POTS & PLANTERS
BEDS & BORDERS
We've got them!
We've had multiple deliveries from Katie's Garden this week, which means we are packed with a fabulous flowering choice of plants. Come to us in Monks Eleigh for cottage garden perennials, grow-your-own, summer patio & basket plants, shrubs, alpines and much much more! We will be open 10am to 5pm every day over the Easter weekend with a fantastic selection of garden plants!
The first grow-your-own vegetable and salad plants are available now, alongside the first of the summer basket and patio plants. We recommend these are not planted out until the risk of frosts has passed in early May. Ready and raring to get into your flower borders are our perennial plants! These plants can cope with frosts and come back year after year. We have a really wide range for the Easter weekend, with many at just £3.99 each. On Easter Monday the Bridge Farm Barns site hosts the first Antique, Vintage and Collectors Market of the year, run by Sarah's Attic. The event runs 10am to 4pm. Spring is a wonderful time of the year for fragrance in the garden. Take some time out from your busy life to really enjoy the sights and smells of your garden: follow your nose and see what you can find!
Wallflowers and Hyacinths are fabulous for fragrance and did you know that many Primroses, Daffodils and Tulips are also scented? Garden Pinks - of the same family as Carnations and Sweet Williams - have long been a favourite of gardeners (and butterflies too!). Shrubs worth a sniff include Osmanthus, Skimmia, Sarcoccoa (sweet box), Mahonias, Daphnes and some Magnolias and Viburnums.
Although we do not stock seeds at our Monks Eleigh nursery you can order them through our supplier, Katie's Garden, and select to collect from us. Including annuals, perennials, vegetables, salads and herbs, all easy-grow varieties from Suffolk's own Thompson & Morgan! SEED GROWING ADVICE
*"Damping off" is a fungal problem causing seedlings to collapse and die. It can be caused by humid conditions as well as from sowing too densely.
