Although we do not stock seeds at our Monks Eleigh nursery you can order them through our supplier, Katie's Garden, and select to collect from us. Including annuals, perennials, vegetables, salads and herbs, all easy-grow varieties from Suffolk's own Thompson & Morgan! SEED GROWING ADVICE
*"Damping off" is a fungal problem causing seedlings to collapse and die. It can be caused by humid conditions as well as from sowing too densely.
If Dudley, Eunice or Franklin gave your fences a battering, this could be the perfect opportunity to plant a hedge in their place. Hedges fare much better in high winds, and they are fantastic for wildlife too.
We do not have the space to stock hedging plants at Monks Eleigh but you can order through us or our supplier nursery, Katie's Garden Plant Centre, for collection from us or for free local home delivery.
Take a look at the Katie's Garden online shop. If you have any requests please get them in sooner rather than later as hedging season ends in March!
The last few plants have gone to new homes or been returned to Katie's Garden in Newbourne near Ipswich, so that is us done for 2021!
Dependent on the weather and Covid situation, we hope to reopen 1st March 2022. If you would like to get in touch please use the Contact page here, or give Katie's Garden a call on 01473 736717. Thank you to everyone who gave their support and custom throughout the year. Wishing you all a safe, healthy, happy Christmas. Our Christmas trees have sold faster than we expected ... so we will be closing for the season a little earlier than planned, as we now have just a handful of pot-grown trees waiting to find loving homes.
Last day is now Wednesday 15th December, although we will be open 10am-11am on Saturday 18th for last-minute plant & gift purchases. Telephone us on 01449 740502 with any queries. A tree doesn’t just have to be for Christmas: our pot-grown trees could give you many years of festive cheer!
A cute pint-sized 3-footer by the front door is sure to bring a smile to the faces of passers-by, as well as to yours of course as you come and go! Choice of non-drop Nordmann Firs and traditional Norway Spruce for that Christmas tree smell. If you have more room we have 4-footers too, and even a handful of 5-footers. Cut trees are nearly sold out, so be quick if you want one! For gift ideas we have beautiful pots & planters, easy-care evergreen shrubs, gift vouchers and easy-read book 'Gardening for the Uncommitted: What you really need to know when you don't really want to know'! Learn more on our Christmas & Winter page or head to the Katie's Garden online shop. We close for the season at 4pm on Sunday 19th December. Our biggest ever selection of Christmas trees is here, including cut Nordmann Firs and Norway Spruces, and pot-grown Christmas trees ranging from 3ft to 5ft-plus!
Get all the information you need on our Christmas & Winter page here. To avoid disappointment please note that we will be closed Mondays & Tuesdays throughout November. We are open 10am to 4pm Wednesdays to Sundays with a full range of garden plants, includings shrubs, cottage garden perennials, ornamental grasses, herbs, lavenders, alpines, fruit bushes, climbers, ferns, seasonal bedding, and spring flowering bulbs including Alliums, Tulips and a handful of Narcissus.
